Winter construction work in a Colorado ski resort required a construction tent that provides great weather protection and temperature control.

Problem

When PCL Construction were tasked with the refurbishment and construction of exterior deckings on high-end condos in the ski resort town of Breckenridge, Colorado, they knew they were going to need a weather protected solution to allow them to continue working in the winter conditions.

Solution

PCL Construction chose a 20’ long x 26’ wide x 14’ high Fast Tent (6m x 8m x 4.3m). By choosing a smaller Fast Tent, PCL were able to manoeuvre the tent into place with no hassle, ideal for covering exterior deckings which required repair and maintenance works.

To ensure plenty of light, each end wall was specified with two windows with roll up covers and each end wall also contained a large roll up door for machinery access and a smaller roll up door for personnel.

“Everything went very well with our tent. We used it to cover exterior decks on a high-end condo project in Breckenridge, Colorado. This project is situated at 10,000 feet above sea level, so weather was a big factor. This tent allowed us to continue waterproofing operations (among several other activities) and not be impacted by snowfall or cold weather.

We used the tent on a daily basis moving it every few days. My only gripe is that I ordered one too small, so moving it needed to be more frequent. We have since finished up the project and have transferred the tent to our equipment yard (in Denver, Colorado) for use on other projects.
